Follow the design story:-  the small white stripes represents the first two ships John Wickliffe and Philip Laing;  the blue colour represents the sea they crossed;  the  green for new pastures; the golds for the crops grown.  The red signifies blood ties left behind;  and the black,  sadness for loved ones missed.

Taking the form of the brimless, bonnet cap that began to be worn throughout north western Europe during the 15th century, the 'Tam O'Shanter' is usually made of wool and has a toorie (pom-pom) in the centre. This distinguishes it from other folk bonnets such as the beret, for instance. Although brimless, the tam has an external hatband which passes around the head's circumference.

Wear on any occasion. Fits any size with an adjustable elastic neckband. Trim and light in pure new wool.
